Short answer
The difference is in the pores. In woven mesh, a pore is the gap between threads; in nanofiber, it is a web formed by countless fine fibres.
Ordinary mesh
- Made by weaving polyester or fibreglass threads.
- Its holes are smaller than a mosquito but far larger than dust.
- Air flows very freely.
Nanofiber screen
- A layered structure with a nanofiber membrane in the middle.
- Holds back dust, pollen, soot and tiny insects.
- Lets air through; on very still days the flow slows a little.
Made to measure: hook-and-loop or roll
