How does dirty air get into the home?
City air carries soot from traffic exhaust, road and construction dust, and soot and fine dust from heating. These particles are too small to see, and they come in with the air as soon as you open a window. Over time they darken the windowsill and settle on curtains, furniture and bedding.
How does a window filter help?
The nanofiber membrane of the Odera window filter lets air through and holds the particles in its fibre web:
- Less dust and soot comes in, and the windowsill stays clean for longer.
- The home gets dusty more slowly, so cleaning is easier.
- Pollen and tiny insects stay outside too.
For traffic pollution, see the exhaust and air pollution page; for fine dust, read What are PM2.5 and PM10?.
