Where does the dust at home come from?
Dust at home comes from two sources: dust formed indoors (textile fibres, skin flakes, pet hair) and dust from outside. If you live by a road, near a building site or in a windy area, the share from outside is quite large. This dust shows up as fine grit on the windowsill, a grey layer on furniture and darkening on white curtains.
What does a window dust filter do?
A window filter filters the air coming through an open window. The nanofiber layer catches most dust particles while air keeps passing through. The result:
- Windowsills and ledges get dirty more slowly.
- Furniture and electronics get dusty more slowly.
- You wash the curtains less often.
- You can open the window to air the room with peace of mind.

Which kinds of dust does it hold back?
| Dust source | Effect |
|---|---|
| Road and traffic dust | Darkened windowsills, fine grit |
| Construction and demolition dust | White, fine and heavy dust |
| Wind-blown soil | Increases in spring and summer |
| Soot from chimneys and exhaust | Black, greasy residue |
