How do you measure for a window filter?

You only need to measure the width and height of your window or door. Measure from the inner edge where the filter will sit and send it to us; we will make your filter with a fitting allowance.

Measuring is very easy

A tape measure is all you need. The diagram below shows where to measure on a window and a door.

Width from left to right, height from top to bottom; measure from the inner edge where the filter will sit.

Choose where it will go
For the hook-and-loop kit, measure the frame edge where the filter will sit; if you are fitting it into an insect screen frame, measure the outside of the frame.
Measure the width
Measure from left to right, edge to edge. Measure at the top, middle and bottom and note the largest value.
Measure the height
Measure from top to bottom. Again, measure at several points and take the largest value.
Send us your size
Write it as width x height in the order form or on WhatsApp. We make the filter with a fitting allowance; any excess is trimmed with scissors.

Common mistakes when measuring

Forgetting the clearance for the opening sash	Open and close the sash to check the tape line
Cutting to the millimetre	For the hook-and-loop model, leave extra to overlap the tape

Does the window filter stop the window opening and closing?

Not when the tape is stuck to a part of the frame outside the opening sash’s range of movement. We recommend opening and closing the sash to check the tape line before fitting.
