How does pollen get into your home?
Pollen grains are very light and can be carried for kilometres by the wind. When the window opens, they come in with the airflow and settle on curtains, beds and rugs. Insect mesh is no barrier to these grains.
How does a pollen filter help?
Pollen grains are larger than the pores of the nanofiber layer, so the filter holds most pollen on its surface while air keeps passing through. As a result:
- You can open the window to air the room in pollen season.
- Sleeping with the window open at night becomes more comfortable.
- Less pollen settles inside the home.
How it differs from pollen mesh
Most products sold as pollen mesh are meshes woven more tightly than standard mesh or electrostatically charged meshes. They can hold back some of the larger pollen but struggle with smaller particles. A nanofiber window filter, thanks to its layered structure, holds back both pollen and fine dust.
