When should a window filter be replaced?

A window filter lasts a long time if it is cleaned regularly. Tears, holes, or airflow that stays clearly low even after cleaning show it is time to replace it.

When should a window filter be replaced?

Short answer

A window filter is not single-use. It is cleaned by vacuuming and rinsing. The need to replace it usually comes from physical damage or heavy soiling.

Signs it needs replacing

  • Tears or holes in the filter
  • Very little airflow even after cleaning
  • Wear where the edges meet the tape
  • Mechanical damage such as scratching by pets

How can you make it last longer?

  • Do not use detergent or hard brushes.
  • Vacuum on low power, not strong suction.
  • To stop cats and dogs scratching it, see the tips on the pet owners page.

If you need a new one

You can order a new filter in the same size from our shop or through the order form made to your measurements. The hook-and-loop tapes can often be reused.
